Dreams for 2014

Today we celebrated my dad’s birthday (yay dad!) with a dinner at my parents’ home. We made an attempt to go around the table and share what our expectations or hopes were for the year.

We talked about prosperity and environmental destruction, flying cars and change. Our daughter announced that the year is going to be “bad.” I wondered about my narrow family focus compared to choosing meaningful service in the world.

We’ve created a vision wall in our office and are putting up hopes, plans and inspiring words. I’ve been working on my own lists of hopes for the year, including inner peace, deepening friendships, and growth in our family life and marriage. I’m seeing how much of Simple Abundance I might want to read through this year.

How are these ideas going to shape our year?
